Colouring Vellum Flowers

Hi Everybody,

Many of you have been enjoying the parchment/
vellum flowers and butterflies that I have been making lately.

So I thought I would show you how I coloured the plain white vellum to suit my designs

It is not an expensive product to work with and you can alter it so very easily and it doesn't matter if it goes blotchy  it all adds to the effect.

The blue flowers are the ones I created in the video and I think this card is lovely with a really delicate look to it.

It would be suitable for any occasion with a change of sentiment.

Here  I have used the dies, stamps and embossing folder from the "Christina Collection" that is available with Craft Stash.

I hope you enjoy the video today and will give these lovely flowers a try for your self, it's not long but long enough for a cuppa.

Transfer Gel and Foil

Hi Everybody,

I would like to share a video with you using the Transfer Gel that I bought the other week

I am really pleased with the result and the cards look very expensive with this fabulous effect added.

I used some of the Creative Stencils from Craft Stash and the Flourish one is my absolute favourite.

For this card I did pink foil on pink card and then layers to give dimension

The sentiment is one I have had for a long time and I thought it would set this foil off perfectly.
Here is the Flourish again but this time it is silver foil on a white background.

I layered it with pink and added in some lovely pink flowers. And that it all it took to create this luxurious card

Imagine this for a Silver Wedding Anniversary card
.... Perfection !!

Circles Rainbow Card

Hi Everybody,

For todays card I have used just one circle die and cut seven of them.

Then I coloured them in with Spectrum Noir Pens in rainbow shades.

I added them to a cloud embossed panel with varying thicknesses of foam underneath some of them.

If you don't have a cloud die then roughly cut some by hand and add a little shading with some pale grey ink.

I added them in an arc to the embossed panel and placed a cloud at each end. The sentiment is from Crafters Companion and it was stamped and heat embossed on to the lower cloud

Quick and easy to do with just a few circles and could be for any occasion ... male or female, young or old.

Tuesday Tutorial - Monstera Card Front

Hi Everybody,

The card today is another of those quick and easy ones to put together when time is of the essence. You could create lots of backgrounds and card fronts and store them away ready to be used when the occasion arises and then simply add the two parts and your done.
Spellbinders Supplies:
Other Supplies:

With the outer part of the Monstera Card Front die cut three pieces in white card  and use two of them to create the base.
With both parts together cut again in white twice and glue together for strength.
With the separate layer of white card spritz it with water and with the Crystal Colour of your choice  sprinkle the colour over the card. Blot of any excess that runs off and then dry with a heat tool ... or leave it to air dry depending on how patient you are !!
Once dry add the two glued together patterned pieces to the top with foam pads underneath in strategic places so that they cannot be seen from the front.
Brush over the leaves in the panel with a Clear Glitter pen to add some subtle sparkle.
Stamp and emboss the sentiment of your choice and add to the card front with foam.
Add to the bottom left of the card
There you have a quick card ready to send ... vary the sentiment for other occasions

Tuesday Tutorial - Blooming Collection

Hi Everybody,

For todays card I am once again mixing and matching dies and one is Medallions Three which I have used many times in the past.
The other is called Blooming Collection and it creates a really pretty open fretwork type of frame.  The bow is created with the DecoFun Bow maker and this is the first ribbon I have tied with it
Spellbinders Supplies:
Other Supplies:

With die # 8 from the matting basics cut two pieces in white and Create A Hinged Card
Create smaller layers leaving just a small border around the edge in blue and white
Emboss the smallest white layer in any folder that you have
Add the blue and white layers together
With both parts of Medallions Three cut a layer in blue
Add small foam pads in strategic areas that cannot be seen from the front
Create a smaller white mat that has been embossed to sit under this die cut
Add the die cut to the top of this panel
With Silver Mirror Card cut one layer and again add small foam pads so that they cannot be seen from the front
Add these layers together and wrap ribbon around them threading it under the silver frame
Add to the base card
Add small foam pads around the die cut circular frame of the die and stamp and heat emboss your sentiment onto the solid part
Add in a double tied bow and place one single rose in the centre
Dress with more flowers in the top right corner.
I have used Roses in two sizes, three rosebuds, Gypsophilla and one cherry blossom for my display
All have been dabbed with glue and glittered to make them sparkle

Tuesday Tutorial - Framed Labels 46

Hi Everybody,

For todays card I have used Spellbinders Framed Labels 46 and I have created an Easel Card for my base and they are very easy to make
There are lots of tutorials on my website on all the variations of Easel Card  that you may like to try ... just click the link
The dies have several other sets that match them in the Labels 46 range
I have deliberately not mentioned sizes because you can make this any size that you want without any measuring at all as long as the die you choose to use will fit onto the panels
Spellbinders Supplies:
Other Supplies:
  • Pearl/Diamante centres from Wild Orchid Crafts
  • Black Spotty Ribbon from Mei Flower
  • Black Pearls from Want2Scrap
  • Black Spotty/Stripe card from AnnaMarie Designs
  • Verse from Crafters Companion
Instructions:
Take a piece of white card and fold in half along the short side then trim it into a square
On one side fold in half again and this will be the top of the easel
With black card create a slightly smaller mat for both the top and bottom cards
With coloured card make slightly smaller pieces and mat onto the black cards
Create another black mat that is a square to hold the largest piece of the die cut and mat with card in a different pattern
Glue the base pieces to the inside of the card
With the top panel, only add glue to the bottom part and add this to the front of the easel card so that the card can open.
If you add glue all over it then the top part will not fold and create the easel ...  Not a good idea !!
With dies #2/3 and 4 cut all the pieces in silver card and this will produce four pieces for you.
Starting with the smallest piece of silver card as #1 we will build the card
With silver piece #3 I have wrapped this with ribbon.
Add foam pads to strategic spots on the back  and attach to the base card
Add the bow and the diamante centre
Add two small black pearls to act as stops to hold the easel open
For the front of the card add the silver piece #4 with glue around the edges
Add the #2 with foam pads to give dimension
Add to the top panel with foam tape and although the picture shows the tape at the bottom only you can add it all along to secure the panel in place

Stamp and emboss a verse of your choice and then mat and layer it onto the same type of card
Cut silver piece #1 in half and secure it behind your verse
Add foam pads behind and add to the front of the card
Add some matching ribbon to the front and glue another centrepiece in place
Prop the easel open with the black pearls
There is space on the back or the inside where you can add your personal greeting

Create a Rainbow

Hi Everybody,

I really had some fun making this little card and I used my Circles dies from Spellbinders to get the look.

The card is created with Spellbinders A2 Matting Basics A and B

I used my Spectrum Noir pens for the vibrant rainbow and it is so easy to do.

You could use any pens that you have or even water colour the rainbow instead

Create A Rainbow is on YouTube today so please pop over and take a look.

I only used white card for everything and we all probably have some white card in our crafting "Stash"

The sentiment is stamped and embossed in white onto parchment that I bought form AnnaMarie Designs
