Lacey Collection Nested Rectangles

Hi Everybody,

This week is going to be a busy week for me and I have lots of samples to make for the Hochanda show later this week.

Also the second box kit will be out for you to buy, but more about that tomorrow.

This card is really pretty and made with the A2
Lacey Nesting Rectangles from the Craft Stash
and the bear is an image from my stash, and she is raised up with foam tape to create shadow and interest

I used my new Arteza Water Colour Brush Pens to water colour her and they blended really well for a lovely effect.

I threaded all the Rectangle Frame with pink organza ribbon and added a bow at the bottom. The verse is from the new ones Set 2 in this Lacey Collection.

It's a fun card that I enjoyed making and  I am sure with a Birthday Sentiment it would please some little girl  for her special day

Lilac Thank You !

Hi Everybody,

Sometimes it is nice to send a "Thank You" card in stead of just saying it.

It gives the person something tangible as a keep sake and so you want to make it as pretty as you can.

This one is created with the
and all I used was the small bud and the leaves to make the background

When you make the background to your card yourself you are always sure that the colours will go together.

Better than trying to match inks with papers that you already have. I have used Lilac card in the layers from Papermill Direct

The sentiment is a chipboard word that I had in my "Stash" and I embossed it in gold powder  before adding it to my card front.

Brusho Die Cut

Hi Everybody,

This card was made some time ago when I was playing with the Brusho Crystal Colours.

They are such a lovely way to play and can be used in a variety of ways. For this card I have simply spritzed the card with water and then added the crystals.

But you can mix a small amount of the powder with water onto your craft mat and use them as water colours.

But be warned a little goes a long long way so use sparingly and the colours are very vibrant too.

I used a die that I bought many years ago and I can't remember the name of the die or where I got it from,  but I have teamed it with the sentiment from my 6x6 Box and Card die set

Quick and easy card and with maybe a change of colour ideal for a male one

Alcohol Inks & Yupo Paper

Hi Everybody,

As promised here is the video using Yupo paper ... and what I hear you asking me is YUPO paper.

Well let me tell you it is amazing and it has probably been around for a long time .

But me ... well I only just found it and I love it.

It is synthetic paper that in non porous. Look at the new UK bank notes and you will get the idea straight away

It will not warp, tear, pill and disintegrate in any way.

And you can use alcohol inks, watercolours, Brushos and many other things on it too.

But it is a plastic and so not bio degradable.

Never the less it is fun to play with and if you don't like the result then just wipe it away and start again.

It die cuts easily to create different shapes for your card and it comes in several thicknesses and sizes.

Let the video show you how I added the gold foil to mine for a luxury look

Yupo Paper

Hi Everybody,

This is the first time I have tried YUPO Paper and what a strange material it is.

It is called paper but it doesn't go soggy, or tear, warp, split or pill no matter what you do to it and it is a fun product to play with

You can die cut it easily which means you can create stencils form your own dies

For this card I have used Alcohol Inks and Gilding Flakes along with some gold card for the sentiment.

I allowed the inks to flow wherever they wanted to on the Yupo paper, and it dries very quickly.  I cut around the edge to leave an uneven shape

On another part of the design I have hand  drawn some flowers and then cut around them. I tried to add some gold gilding flakes around this edge with a glue pen but it came out very patchy.
So I will have to try that part again to see what I did wrong

I backed the centre flowers onto some gold card, leaving a narrow border around the edge and then added this with foam tape underneath to raise it up from the main card.

The tiny hearts and the Best Wishes are cut from the same gold card.

The background is done with an embossing folder and the single flower at the top is added with glue.

I quite like the effect though and once I have practised a little bit more with the technique I will video it to show you what I have done

Glazed Distress Oxides

Hi Everybody,

This techniques is a lot of fun and no two will ever look the same no matter how hard you try.

Let the inks build up the layers and don't worry about it as you work, but choose the colours that will compliment your image or colour scheme.

The Oxides will dry with a chalky look but once you add the glaze all the under colours will come out and the effect is really lovely.

Have fun as you play ... that is what crafting is all about and you will be amazed at the different effects you will get from other colours

When you make them into cards add embellishments to enhance the colours. Die cut them or make them into strips and weave them. Add other die cuts to them ... especially a large sentiment or simply add flowers as I did with one of mine.

Beautiful Foils

Hi Everybody,

I have been buying again and this time I have got some beautiful foils to play with. These are all from Deco Foil and I got them from Amazon.

The two outer edge ones have to be my favourites at the moment but that could change as I have more colours on the way.

The one on the left is a gorgeous two tone blue and the result is a real WOW factor This is one I shall be using a lot and I will show you the cards I make with it as well as some more ways to use it in a video.

The one on the right is so elegant and it is called Opal. It looks perfect for wedding cards and it so pretty. This is another one I shall be using regularly  So keep a look out for both.

I have used all these with Stencils and Transfer Gel
But I have a video with other ways to use any of these foils ...
More Ways with Foils

Here are some of the cards made with these lovely colours

The card above is using that two tone blue and I just love this one and this cute little girl is added to the Opal on Black for a look that is different

I hope you will enjoy the video and join me for more as I learn about Foils
